Giant Asteroid Is Heading To Earth Today | NASA Warning: Collision Cannot Be Ruled Out
There’s a massive asteroid that could theoretically destroy life on Earth on its way to us this afternoon NASA warns. This asteroid has the capability of wiping out all life in the vicinity of the point of impact.
The lethal asteroid is bigger than a two-story house, and it has been termed by NASA, Asteroid 2018 WN.
The enormous space rock is anticipated to skim past our planet, and it will be making its closest appearance at 11:49 am GMT.
The probability of the asteroid colliding with Earth cannot be ruled out, updates from NASA are anxiously awaited.
Some NASA astronomers have calculated the asteroid’s trajectory and based on their estimates we may escape the collision by a whisker. In any case destructive potential is pretty freaky and the chances of it impacting in the oceans are being considered the strongest possibility.
Space scientists at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory estimate the asteroid measures approximately 40ft to 91ft (12m to 28m).
Giant Asteroid Is Heading To Earth Today
History has it that more than 1,000 people were injured back in 2013 after a similar sized space rock erupted over the Russian city of Chelyabinsk, as reported by Express.co.uk at that time.
The reverberating impact shattered windows in a wide radius, and shards of glass dispersed like a splinter bomb and cut into victim’s bodies.
Astronomers have lately acknowledged that there are unnoticed asteroids in our galaxy and some of them do pose a risk for life on Earth.
It appears that if a gigantic asteroid made a trajectory with our planet, it would leave no time to vacate the population who would be in the firing line.
